Architecture Photography - Deansgate - 11am - 2 hours

During this meetup, we'll shoot and discuss how to photograph different aspects of architectural design. Deansgate has an interesting mixture of traditional industrial and modern hi-rise buildings, making it an ideal area for this style of photography.
Expect to come away with a better understanding of how to use composition and exposure to create eye-catching and thought provoking photographs.

Street Photography - Northern Quarter - 11am - 2 hours

Street photography can be addictive, but also frustrating at times! When there’s so much going on in front of your camera, it can be hard to pick out what to focus on and shoot. In this session we’ll be looking at how to separate a good photo story from the noise, and how to improve the photos you take when out and about with your camera.

Beginners Photography Class - Deansgate and Castlefield - 9am - 3 hours

For those who want to brush up on the basics and start enjoying our regular group meet-up sessions. Learn how to get off Auto Mode and onto Manual settings, along with the basics of composition, framing and other useful tips.
Expect to come out from this session with a clear understanding of the fundamentals of photography.

Mastering Reflection Photography - Northern Quarter - 11am - 2 hours

Reflections are in more places than you expect and they can create a more interesting composition in your images.
Through a series of activities, in this meetup we’ll discover new ways to find and capture reflections in a safe and creative environment. Windows, puddles, sunglasses... these are all examples of the surfaces we'll be using to capture interesting and compelling images.

Outdoor Portraiture using Natural Light - Northern Quarter - 1pm - 2 hours

What makes the difference between a happy snap and a portrait? We will be exploring techniques to photograph people using formal, casual and candid posing. Natural light creates a softer and more aesthetically complimentary look and in this session we will be practicing how to harness daylight using a reflector sheet.

Black and White Photography - Northern Quarter and Ancoats - 11am - 2 hours

Before colour film, there was only monochrome and in this session we'll be focusing on just that. Taking away the distractions of bright flowers and blue skies, we'll be shifting our attention towards shadows, textures and contrasting tones. By the end of this session, expect to be expertly capturing the world in black and white.
